Membership Management

Centralized membership management is out of date

In the past, the personal behavioral data of internet users was heavily centralized in the hands of a few social media companies. However, these data were often used for commercial purposes that users did not like. Most users no longer agree with the collection of behavioral data under the guise of membership management. The concept of “Self-Sovereign Identity ” is gradually being valued. Marching toward Web 3.0, the e-commerce providers must strengthen protection of user’s data. The best strategy is to return the control of privacy data back to customers.

Empower personal data autonomy to reduces cybersecurity risks

After a user joins as a member, the service provider issues the member’s identity and sends it back to the user. Within the service system, only the de-identifiable data should be retained, and no privacy data needs to be stored. When the member logs in, the service provider can re-obtain the member’s information from provided credential and use it within the service. In this way, service providers no longer need to worry about compliance with GDPR, and the risk from breaches of personal information is minimized.

Integrating Online and Offline

Membership management can not only be used for online services but also for physical stores. CLIP provides offline stores with automatic issuance functions that let customers scan a registered QR code shown at the counters, fill out the required fields on the app and then obtain his/her membership credentials. Afterwards, customers can interact with a website by scanning a QR code shown on the web page and login as an online member. Online service providers and enterprises can use APIs to implement system integration, while smaller physical stores can directly use the CLIP app to verify membership.

Through the CLIP platform, customers can use the same membership identity in both the online and offline services. This makes it easy for businesses to link customer shopping behavior and achieve the goal of O2O marketing.
